Wolfcamp Shale News From EOG Resources

The Wolfcamp shale play in West Texas, specifically in Irion and Crockett counties is proving to be a highly successful part of EOG Resources North American horizontal oil assets.  Below is a map of the Wolfcamp shale play from eogresources.com

In a February 17, 2011 report to investors the company announced that they will be operating a 3 rig drilling program in 2011. So far EOG Resources has completed 4 Wolfcamp shale horizontal wells and has drilled a total of 8 wells.

An average Wolcamp shale horizontal oil well drilled by EOG Resources is producing 55% oil, 22% natural gas and 23% natural gas liquids.

The University 43-1001H is producing 560 barrels of oil per day and 215 Mcfd of natural gas. The University 40-1402H was producing 390 Bopd and 600 Mcfd.

EOG Resources holds 120,000 net acres of leases in the Wolfcamp shale in West Texas. Estimated reserves are 40 million barrels of oil, net after royalty.
